The Opportunity
Join an award-winning firm with a national presence and a reputation for delivering top-tier work. This is your chance to work on high-profile, complex matters and in a law firm that truly values flexibility, inclusion, and your professional growth.

You’ll be part of a dynamic Planning & Environment team known for handling some of Queensland’s most interesting and challenging projects. From land use and approvals to litigation and remediation, this team has the expertise across the full project lifecycle. You’ll also have the chance to collaborate with other practice groups and insurance experts, especially in areas where environmental liability and litigation overlap.

Working closely with a senior leader in the field, you’ll advise a broad range of clients - from energy and resources companies to large-scale developers, manufacturers, and government entities on both front-end and contentious matters.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Development applications, permits, and approvals
  • Navigating environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Managing planning and environmental disputes
  • Responding to environmental incidents and enforcement matters
  • Handling environmental liability and insurance coverage issues
  • Risk management, decommissioning, and rehabilitation
  • Dealing with objections to valuations, resumptions and claiming compensation.

You’ll be given the autonomy to run files, contribute to strategic decisions, and work closely with a mentor who’s passionate about fostering a collaborative, supportive environment.

About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • At least 4 years of experience in planning and environment law (Associate & Senior Associate level)
  • Strong technical skills and a strategic mindset
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in mentoring
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A passion for providing practical, high-quality legal solutions
