An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Associate to join an Employment & Workplace Safety team at a globally respected, full-service law firm in Brisbane. Known for its innovative approach and client-focused solutions, this firm operates across multiple jurisdictions, providing top-tier legal services to a diverse client base.

This role offers the chance to work on high-profile, complex matters alongside a collaborative and dynamic team. You’ll have exposure to clients in industries such as entertainment, construction, medical, manufacturing and mining, making a meaningful impact on their workplace safety and employment law needs.

Responsibilities: 
  • Represent employers in disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protection claims.
  • Advise on employment-related documents like contracts, executive arrangements, and workplace policies.
  • Navigate employment law compliance and develop client-centric strategies.
  • Manage litigation in State and Federal Courts, Tribunals, and Commissions.
  • Facilitate alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation and conciliation.
  • Deliver training programs on employment matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor junior lawyers to build their expertise and confidence.
  • Drive business development initiatives and enhance client relationships.
  • Contribute to the firm’s learning resources including precedents and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

About You To excel in this role, you will:
  • Have 7+ years PQE with demonstrated experience in employment and safety law.
  • Be commercially minded and practical in your approach.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate expertise in client management, business development, and mentoring.
