Key duties include:
Awards Officer (HEW6)
- Manage post-award funding workflows for a portfolio of research projects, addressing issues promptly.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to manage research funding and collaborations.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of post-award grants and provide regular reports on funding performance.
- Lead and manage complex research funding processes, providing expert advice and strategic oversight.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to improve funding processes and operations.
- Lead key cross-functional projects and assist in the development of training materials to promote best practices for post-award management.
- Qualifications and/or experience in administration, project management, or a similar field (experience in research funding is highly desirable).
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities, particularly in research funding management.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret complex policies and manage research funds in line with these.
- Advanced computer skills, especially with business management software.
- For HEW7, experience in team leadership and strategic operational improvements is essential.
